It’s the month, Samsung is busy curating its ongoing One UI 8 beta testing program. Out there, many Galaxy devices one by one are receiving the long-awaited One UI 7 software version. In all this busy schedule, Samsung may have taken out time to work on its next major One UI 8.5 software. According to early sources, the Samsung development team is now working on the One UI 8.5 version for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series devices. The Galaxy Unpacked event will take place in January, where the new software will be unveiled.
There is no word on any of its features or key changes in the software. We can assume that the company could introduce more Galaxy AI functions to the flagship models. Since One UI 6, it has been releasing more AI tools, so the new version can also bring a few more with it. In One UI 8, Samsung is focusing on the stability of the current AI features, which we could also see in the next firmware. The Now Brief, Now Bar, and Google Gemini tools might also get extra tricks to deliver more features.

The rumored One UI 8.5 software will not conduct any beta program and will be delivered directly to the supported Galaxy phones, tablets, and phablets. After the Galaxy S26 family, the Galaxy S25 series, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Fold 6, Flip 6, Galaxy Tab S11, and Galaxy S25 FE will receive the next version. Currently, the Galaxy S25 lineup is busy in One UI 8 beta 2 testing. As per the plan, the next Fold 7 & Flip 7 will first get the stable version of it. In the coming weeks, we will deliver more news on the One UI 8.5 version when we hear more about it.
