Older Watches may not get all Galaxy Watch 8 Health Features

July 2, 2025

With the Galaxy Watch 8, Samsung will unveil a few more Samsung Health features. It announced to bring new Running Coach, Vascular Load, Bedtime Guidance, and Antioxidant Index functions to the Galaxy watch series. All these features are part of the One UI 8 Watch version and will be unveiled on the next smartwatch. The new information spotted in the Health app regarding these features suggests not all these features will land on older Galaxy Watches. Some of these health tools will be exclusive to Galaxy Watch 8, Watch 8 Classic, & Watch Ultra 2.

The listing of these functions in the Samsung Health app reveals their device compatibility. These functions are available in beta firmware from the Samsung Health Lab section, where we can read supported devices. As per the posted description, the Vascular Load and Antioxidant Index tools will be exclusive to the Galaxy Watch 8 series. Both features will not be supported on Galaxy Watch 7, Watch Ultra, or previous smartwatches. The remaining two, Running Coach & Bedtime Guidance, will only support older models.

Galaxy Watch 8 Health Features

When the company announced this news, all users thought they could use all these Health features, but the Samsung Health page tells a different story. Some users claim that, in the running One UI 8 Watch beta testing firmware, they can use all these features on the Galaxy Watch 7 series, though we are not sure. It all becomes clear in the Galaxy Unpacked event on July 9, when Samsung will announce new software.
