Google Gemini Launched for Galaxy Watch 5, Watch 6 & Watch 7

July 17, 2025

As announced by Google recently, the digital assistant app Google Gemini is now available for previous Wear OS watches. It is now rolling out on Samsung Galaxy Watches, apart from the new Galaxy Watch 8 series. The latest version of the app is available to download in the Play Store, which activates and replaces Google Assistant with Google Gemini on the supported smartwatches. Currently, it supports Galaxy Watch 5, Watch 5 Pro, Watch 6, Watch 6 Classic, Watch 7, and Watch 7 Ultra.

On your smartwatch, it acts as a personal AI assistant and guides you with the help of AI. It will assist you in various ways, from starting apps to opening settings. It is easy to say the Gemini AI is the advanced version of the Google Assistant app, which you have been using for a while on your Galaxy Watch.

To open the tool, you can say ‘Hey Google’ or hold down the side button. You can also find it in tiles beside the existing Bixby tile. Compared to Gemini on phones, the smartwatch version needs to learn many things.

The first Wear OS-based Galaxy Watch 4 is still not supporting this personal AI assistant. It may come in a future update, so users should wait for the next version. All the users of Galaxy Watch 5 and later can now install the new version on their smartwatches. The latest Google Gemini app version 1.22.5.780344288 is now available in the store. Go now and check for a new app update, and start using the new AI tool on a smartwatch.
